Separation from parents, which means being deprived from their primary means of protection for various reasons, and violence in homes and in schools are forms of punishment and torture that are very common forms of child abuse.<br /><br />As the statistics on child abuse cross ethnic, socioeconomic and religious lines, no group is exempt from experiencing the horror of child abuse. That is one reason why emergency room doctors, child care professionals and many others are just as suspicious of abuse to a child from a well to do family as they would be from a low income family. Everyone has the responsibility to help stop abuse against children.
